JoyDrop Privacy Policy
Your data should move only when your service needs it.
This policy explains how the JoyDrop app and website access, collect, use, share, protect, retain and delete user and device data.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to JoyDrop customers, riders, delivery partners, shop owners and website visitors. “JoyDrop”, “we” and “us” refer to the JoyDrop service shown in the app and at joydropcompany.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account and profile: name, email, language, roles, login/session and device records.
- Location: pickup, drop-off, saved places, search locations, route coordinates and an online rider’s precise foreground or background location.
- Service activity: rides, goods movement, shop orders, status history, fares, cancellations, ratings, support and dispute records.
- Communications: booking chat text, delivery/read status and user-submitted attachments.
- Wallet and transaction: balances, ledger entries, deposit requests, payment method, fare and settlement records. JoyDrop does not ask users to place full card credentials in booking chat.
- Rider and shop verification: identity, licence, vehicle, emergency contact, settlement and business information plus uploaded documents.
- Technical data: IP/network request information, app version, security events and diagnostics needed to operate and protect the service.
3. How we use data
We use data to create and secure accounts; show nearby services; calculate routes, fares and estimates; dispatch only compatible approved riders; fulfil rides, deliveries and orders; provide live tracking and safety features; record wallet and settlement entries; prevent abuse; communicate status; resolve support issues; and comply with law.
4. Location and background access
Customer location is accessed when requested for pickup, drop-off, saved places or nearby results. When a rider chooses to go online, JoyDrop may use precise location while the app is open or in the background for dispatch, presence, live-trip tracking and safety. Riders can go offline and all users can change location permissions in Android settings.
5. When data is shared
We share only the service details needed by an assigned customer, rider or shop. Infrastructure, maps/geocoding, file storage and security providers process limited data for JoyDrop under their applicable terms. Information may also be disclosed to authorities or affected parties when required by law, to investigate fraud, or to protect safety and legal rights. JoyDrop does not sell personal data.
6. Retention and security
JoyDrop uses authenticated access, restricted staff permissions, secure transport and access logging. Data is retained only for service delivery, safety, support, fraud prevention, accounting and legal needs. Saved places, active sessions and private verification documents are removed or de-linked through the deletion process. Some booking, dispute, audit and financial records may be retained in restricted or de-identified form when required for legitimate legal, safety, fraud-prevention or accounting purposes.
7. Your controls
- Edit profile details and saved places in the app.
- Review and revoke signed-in devices.
- Control location and notification permission in Android settings.
- Request account deletion in-app under Account → Privacy & data, or use our public account deletion page.
8. Children, changes and contact
JoyDrop is not directed to children under 18 and rider accounts require legal eligibility. We may update this policy when the service or law changes and will publish a revised effective date. For privacy questions, contact support@joydropcompany.com.
